I quite liked the visual gag with the ships formation being a cats face.
That was pretty good, and a good setup for the hologram symbol they formed later on.
However, [pedantic nerd] I've always been a bit sceptical of the reverence the cats have for the old feline image. 'Prehistoric' cats are seen in the cat bible pictures and as statues in the priests quarters. It would be like us portraying Adam and Eve as chimps, and worshipping monkeys (apart from Hanuman and Sun Wukong.) [/pedantic nerd]
Did anyone laugh at the cats using a giant cat flap? I did to begin with, but then couldn't stop thinking how ridiculous it was. The cat species evolved on Red Dwarf, millions of years journey away from the nearest cat flap, and also it makes no logical sense for a humanoid species to be crawling through a giant cat flap.
I didn't think the catflap was in anyway funny, ffs cringy yes.
I thought the emotional moments (such as the sun/moon stuff and Cat showing sadness when he thinks Rimmer is dead) worked best. Overall I'm glad it exists, and if it's the last ever Red Dwarf episode then finally returning to the cats and giving them a nice ending was a good way to end it all.
